Help & support

How can we help?

Answers to the questions we hear most — and a straight line to a real person when you need one. FluentFeast is built by one devoted husband, so your email lands in front of someone who actually cooks.

Getting started

Getting started

How does FluentFeast work?

Pick a recipe, cook it, and learn the language as you go. Every step is bilingual, every ingredient is a vocabulary word, and the culture notes come from the same kitchens the recipe does.

Which languages can I learn?

Italian, French, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin Chinese, and Arabic — eight languages, each taught through the food that grew it.

Do I need to know how to cook?

Not yet. Most beginner recipes are a one-pan affair. If you can boil water, you can speak a little Italian by Friday.

How do I start my first recipe?

Create a free account, choose your language and level during onboarding, then open the Recipe library or your dashboard and tap Continue. We'll pick up wherever you left off.

Account & sign-in

Account & sign-in

How do I sign in?

We use a secure sign-in handled by our authentication provider — Google, Apple, or email. The same account works on the website and the mobile app, so your progress follows you.

I can't log in or didn't get my code.

Check your spam folder, and make sure you're using the same email or provider you signed up with. If you're still locked out, email support@fluentfeast.com and we'll get you back in.

How do I change my name, email, or sign-in details?

Head to Dashboard → Settings to update your profile. Sign-in identity and passwords are managed through your authentication provider (Google or Apple).

How do I export or delete my data?

You can do both yourself from Dashboard → Settings, or from the dedicated account-deletion page. Deleting your account removes your learning data — streaks, saved recipes, and vocabulary included.

Plans & billing

Plans & billing

Is FluentFeast free?

Yes — the Free plan gives you two learning recipes a month with full bilingual mode. A nibble is $5/month for 10 recipes, and A full feast is $10/month for unlimited — both add printable lessons and scan-to-translate. The Sunday newsletter is free for everyone.

How do I upgrade or change my plan?

Go to Dashboard → Billing to switch plans. Changes take effect right away and your recipe allowance updates with them.

How do I cancel, and will I lose access?

Cancel anytime from Dashboard → Billing (or from the App Store if you subscribed on your iPhone). You keep your paid features until the end of the current billing period.

I was charged unexpectedly or want a refund.

Email billing@fluentfeast.com with the address on your account and we'll sort it out. Purchases made through the App Store follow Apple's refund process.

I subscribed on my iPhone — where do I manage it?

App Store subscriptions are managed in your iOS Settings under your Apple Account → Subscriptions. That's also where you'd cancel or change an app-store plan.

Recipes & learning

Recipes & learning

Can I learn Brazilian Portuguese through cooking?

Yes. We use feijoada, brigadeiros, and the kitchens of São Paulo, Salvador, and Belo Horizonte. The Portuguese you'll learn is the Portuguese spoken at the table.

What is scan-to-translate?

On paid plans you can import a recipe — scan or paste one — and we'll turn it into a bilingual lesson, so you can learn from the dishes you already love.

How do vocabulary and practice work?

Words you meet while cooking are saved to your vocabulary automatically. The Practice tab lets you review them later, and your streak keeps track of how consistent you've been.

Can I print my lessons?

Yes — printable lessons are included on the paid plans, so you can take a recipe and its vocabulary to the stove without your phone.

Mobile app

Mobile app

Is there a mobile app?

Yes — FluentFeast is available on mobile, and you sign in with the same account you use on the web.

Does my progress sync between web and mobile?

It does. Recipes, vocabulary, streaks, and your plan all live on your account, so you can start a recipe on your laptop and keep going on your phone.

Troubleshooting

Troubleshooting

The app is slow, blank, or won't load.

Refresh the page (or update to the latest app version), check your internet connection, and try again. If it persists, email support@fluentfeast.com with your device and what you were doing — the more detail, the faster we can help.

Audio or scan isn't working.

Most of the time this is a permissions setting — make sure FluentFeast has access to your microphone (for speaking practice) or camera (for scanning recipes) in your device settings.

A recipe or translation looks wrong.

Thank you for catching it. Send corrections, recipe fixes, or culture notes to content@fluentfeast.com and we'll get them into the kitchen.

How do I report a bug or request a feature?

Bugs go to support@fluentfeast.com; ideas, recipe requests, and feature wishes go to content@fluentfeast.com. Real people read both.
